CODE OF CONDUCT

CULTURALLY DEFINED — CODE OF CONDUCT

At Culturally Defined, we believe in casual vibes, serious training. We’ve built a community where adults can grow, move, and connect — grounded in respect, inclusivity, and passion for dance. This Code of Conduct outlines how we keep our space safe, inspiring, and professional for everyone.

1. COMMUNITY FIRST

We are a community before anything else.

  • Treat every dancer, instructor, and staff member with kindness and respect.

  • Celebrate diversity — we welcome all backgrounds, identities, and experience levels.

  • Encourage others, don’t compare. Everyone’s journey looks different.

2. RESPECT THE SPACE

Our studios are shared, and we take pride in keeping them positive and professional.

  • Arrive on time and ready to move. Late entries can interrupt class flow.

  • Keep phones and personal belongings tucked away in lockers.

  • Tidy up your belongings and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

3. COMMITMENT & PROFESSIONALISM

Growth comes from consistency and accountability.

  • Come prepared, engaged, and open to feedback.

  • Communicate absences or injuries proactively.

  • Follow all registration and cancellation policies to ensure fair access for others.

4. INSTRUCTOR & STAFF RELATIONS

Our faculty and staff are here to support your journey.

  • Follow instructor guidance and respect class boundaries.

  • All bookings, payments, and private sessions must go through Culturally Defined, not individual instructors.

  • Harassment, intimidation, or inappropriate communication of any kind will not be tolerated.

5. SAFETY & WELLNESS

Your physical and mental well-being matter to us.

  • Listen to your body and modify movement as needed.

  • Report injuries, hazards, or concerns to a staff member right away.

  • Be mindful of others’ personal space and comfort in class.

6. REPRESENTING CULTURALLY DEFINED

When you’re part of CD, you represent our community — in class, at events, and online.

  • Uphold our values of positivity, inclusivity, and respect.

  • Contribute to a supportive environment both on and off the dance floor.

  • Be mindful of how you engage with peers, staff, and our brand publicly.

7. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

Culturally Defined has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or behavior that compromises the safety or dignity of others. Any participant found engaging in such behaviour may be removed from class or programming.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU

We promise to provide a creative and empowering space — where you can train seriously, have fun, and continue defining your own movement.
