ABOUT US.

CASUAL VIBES. SERIOUS TRAINING.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT COMMUNITY, GROWTH, AND HAVING A GOOD F*CKING TIME.

Founded in 2013, Culturally Defined is a movement built for adults who take dance seriously — and still want to enjoy the ride. We've spent over a decade proving that busy schedules and real life are no barrier to real training. Our system immerses adults of all levels in a complete dance experience: technique, performance, and community — all at once. Our CD Method goes beyond learning choreography. After 10+ years, we’ve crafted the perfect blend of technique training, body mechanics, and practical tools to help dancers move with confidence in any setting in our 4-Month Signature Progressives.

DIRECTORS

FOUNDER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Chris founded Culturally Defined in 2013 with a simple belief: that adults deserve a space to grow, play, and connect too. His own path through dance runs deep — from performing live on stage with Janet Jackson, to work in film and television, to battling and placing Top 4 in house at VSDF. As Creative Director, he channels that same caliber of artistry into CD's programming, choreography, and signature showcases — the reason a CD show feels like nothing else in the city. Still deeply rooted in the community that built this studio, Chris remains the creative heartbeat of everything CD does, on stage and off.

CO-OWNER, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Brigitte has spent almost a decade turning that founding vision into a real, thriving community — not just a studio, but a home for hundreds of adult dancers across Vancouver. Also a dancer, she grew up in the studio training in tap, jazz, and ballet before falling in love with hip hop and street dance in her adult years. As Director of Operations, she's the one making sure everything — studio offerings, community, & expansion — runs the way it should. If CD feels effortless when you walk through the door, that's Brigitte's quiet work behind the scenes.
