CHRIS & KYLE
Chris Wong and Kyle Vicente are the co-owners and directors of Culturally Defined. They are two friends who happen to have the same vision of an open space where all types of dancers can come together and share their passion for movement. Chris and Kyle have been professionally trained in all styles of street dance by many of the originators of hip hop. They came together with hopes of keeping original styles of hip hop alive by making reliable hip hop knowledge available in Vancouver.
His dance style blends together elements of hip hop, house, popping, locking, and new style hustle. He is professionally trained in all foundations of street dance and his training extends across the globe- LA, New York, Tokyo, and Vancouver.
As a performer, he works with Da Costa Talent and his work has been featured in music videos, TV shows, movies, and concerts. This is his third year selected as one of Georgia Straight's Top 3 Dancers for his influence in the dance community.
Kyle Vicente started his dance career at the age of 13 and has trained in hip hop, popping, locking, house, dancehall, jazz, and more. His dance experience is made up of years training competitively in crews including OTI (Over The Influence) Crew and The Faculty, both of which have won globally recognized awards. Over the years, Kyle has worked in many films, TV shows, commercials, and live performances.
He is a lively performer and a dedicated teacher; motivated by his desire to inspire others to explore their artistic fields & to encourage passions that share creative interpretation.
